Default Products

Pre-select products for each step to speed up the bundle process and guide customers toward recommended items.

What Are Defaults?

Each step can have a pre-selected product. Customers see it already chosen and can keep it or change it. All defaults together create a "recommended bundle" that can be added to cart immediately.


Setting Defaults

  1. Edit or create a Collection Bundle

  2. For each step, click the Default Product selector

  3. Choose a product from that step's collection

  4. Save

The default product must be in the step's collection, published, and in stock.


Defaults with Variants

If the default product has variants (size, color):

  • Specific variant: Pre-select a specific variant (e.g., Medium, Gray)

  • No variant selected: Product is pre-selected but customer must choose a variant before the step is complete

Tip: Pre-select the most popular variant (e.g., Medium size, most neutral color).


Defaults vs Required Steps

These are independent settings:

Removing a Default

Edit the bundle → find the step → clear the default selection → save. The step will now require customer selection.


Troubleshooting

  • Default not appearing — Check product is in the collection, published, and in stock

  • Wrong default shown — Edit step, verify selection, and save

  • Default shows but can't be added — Product may have required variant selection; check inventory
