What Are Defaults?
Each step can have a pre-selected product. Customers see it already chosen and can keep it or change it. All defaults together create a "recommended bundle" that can be added to cart immediately.
Setting Defaults
Edit or create a Collection Bundle
For each step, click the Default Product selector
Choose a product from that step's collection
Save
The default product must be in the step's collection, published, and in stock.
Defaults with Variants
If the default product has variants (size, color):
Specific variant: Pre-select a specific variant (e.g., Medium, Gray)
No variant selected: Product is pre-selected but customer must choose a variant before the step is complete
Tip: Pre-select the most popular variant (e.g., Medium size, most neutral color).
With and Without Defaults

Default set | Pre-selected, customer can keep it or swap it |
No default | Nothing pre-selected, customer must choose |
Removing a Default
Edit the bundle → find the step → clear the default selection → save. The step will now require customer selection.
Troubleshooting
Default not appearing — Check product is in the collection, published, and in stock
Wrong default shown — Edit step, verify selection, and save
Default shows but can't be added — Product may have required variant selection; check inventory
