Most Common Causes
App block not added to theme
Bundle Product not configured (if using page or collection template)
Wrong template assigned
Bundle product not published
Looking at the wrong page
Check 1: Is the App Block Added?
The most common reason bundles don't appear is that the app block hasn't been added to your theme.
How to fix:
Go to Online Store → Themes
Click Edit theme on your active theme
Navigate to Products → Default product (or your bundle template)
In the left sidebar, click Add block
Scroll to Apps and select the appropriate block:
Mix & Match Bundle for Mix & Match Pack Builder for Pack Builder Collection Bundle for Collection BundlesPosition the block where you want it (usually below the title or price)
Click Save
Check 2: Is Bundle Product Configured? (Page/Collection Templates)
This is a very common issue! If you added the app block to a page template or collection template (instead of a product template), you must tell the block which bundle to display.
How to fix:
Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit theme
Navigate to your page or collection template
Click the bundle app block in the left sidebar
Find the Bundle Product setting
Click Select and search for your bundle's exact name
Select the parent bundle product (the product MOD Bundles created for your bundle)
Click Save
Common mistake: People often select one of the individual products inside the bundle instead of the parent bundle product. Make sure you're selecting the product that MOD Bundles created—it will have the exact name you gave your bundle when you created it in the app.
Why is this needed?
On a product template, the block automatically knows which bundle to show based on the product being viewed. On page or collection templates, there's no product context—you must explicitly select which bundle product the block should display.
Check 2b: Don't Set Product Twice (Product Templates)
Common mistake! If you're using a product template, do NOT also set the Bundle Product in the app block settings.
The problem:
Setting the bundle product in BOTH the MOD Bundles app AND in the theme customizer's "Bundle Product" field can cause the bundle to not display.
How to fix:
Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit theme
Navigate to your product template
Click the bundle app block in the left sidebar
Check the Bundle Product setting
If it has a product selected, clear it (leave it empty)
Click Save
When to use Bundle Product:
Template Type | Bundle Product |
Product template | Leave empty — auto-detects from page |
Page template | Must select bundle product |
Collection template | Must select bundle product |
Check 3: Is the Right Template Assigned?
If you created a custom template for bundles, make sure your bundle product is using it.
How to check:
Go to Products in your Shopify admin
Find and click your bundle product
Scroll down to the Theme template section (right sidebar)
Make sure the correct template is selected
Click Save if you made changes
Note: Your bundle product has the title you gave it when creating the bundle (e.g., "Build Your Gift Box").
Check 4: Is the Bundle Product Published?
Bundle products need to be published to your Online Store sales channel.
How to check:
Go to Products in your Shopify admin
Find your bundle product
Check the Status column — it should say "Active"
Click the product and verify Online Store is checked under Sales channels
If it's not published:
Click the product
In the right sidebar, under Sales channels and apps
Check Online Store
Click Save
Check 5: Are You on the Right Page?
Bundles can appear on different page types depending on your setup:
Bundle Type | Where It Can Appear |
Mix & Match | Product page, page template, or collection template |
Pack Builder | Product page, page template, or collection template |
Collection Bundle | Product page, page template, or collection template |
Remember: If using a page or collection template, you must configure Bundle Product in the block settings.
Make sure you're viewing the bundle product's page, not a regular product page.
How to find your bundle's URL:
Go to Products in Shopify admin
Find your bundle product
Click it and look at the Online Store preview link
Check 6: Is Your Theme Compatible?
MOD Bundles requires an Online Store 2.0 theme with app block support.
How to check:
Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit theme
Try to add a block in any section
If you see an Apps category in the block picker, your theme is compatible
If your theme isn't compatible:
Consider upgrading to an OS 2.0 theme like Dawn
Or contact us for help with manual integration
Check 7: Clear Your Browser Cache
Sometimes old cached versions of your site can hide new changes.
Try these:
Hard refresh the page:
Ctrl+Shift+R(Windows) orCmd+Shift+R(Mac)Open your store in an incognito/private window
Clear your browser cache completely
Try a different browser
Check 8: Is the Block Hidden?
The app block might be added but hidden in the theme editor.
How to check:
Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit theme
Navigate to your product template
Look for the bundle block in the left sidebar
If you see an eye icon with a line through it, the block is hidden
Click the eye icon to make it visible
Click Save
