Go to Settings in Shopify admin

Theme Requirements
Required: Online Store 2.0 Theme
Your theme must support app blocks. This includes:
Shopify Free Themes:
Dawn, Sense, Craft, Crave, Colorblock, Ride, Origin, Studio, Taste
Popular Paid Themes:
Impulse, Prestige, Warehouse, Flex, Symmetry, Motion, Broadcast, Impact
How to check:
Go to Online Store → Themes → Edit theme
Navigate to any page
Try to add a block
If you see Apps section → Your theme is compatible
Older Themes (Not Compatible)
If your theme was created before 2021, it likely doesn't support app blocks:
Debut, Brooklyn, Minimal, Supply, Narrative, etc.
Solution: Upgrade to a newer theme. Dawn is free and fully compatible.
Product Requirements
Need Published Products
To create bundles, you need products that are:
✅ Published to Online Store sales channel
✅ Active (not draft or archived)
✅ Have at least one variant
Special Cases
Digital products: Work with bundles
Gift cards: Generally not compatible
Draft products: Cannot be added to bundles
Hidden products: Not available for bundles
Automatic Eligibility Check
When you install MOD Bundles and try to create your first bundle, the app automatically checks:
Your Shopify plan
Checkout extensibility status
Theme compatibility
If something's missing, you'll see a clear message explaining what's needed.
Common Eligibility Issues
"Checkout extensibility not available"
Cause: Your Shopify plan doesn't include it, or it hasn't been enabled.
Solution:
Upgrade to Shopify Basic or higher
Contact Shopify support if you're on a qualifying plan but see this error
"Theme not compatible"
Cause: Your theme doesn't support app blocks.
Solution:
Upgrade to an Online Store 2.0 theme
Dawn (free) is a great option
"No products available"
Cause: No published products to add to bundles.
Solution:
Publish at least one product
Check product status (not draft/archived)
Verify products are on Online Store channel
Trial Period
MOD Bundles may offer a free trial. During trial:
Full functionality available
Test before committing
Ensure it works for your store
Check current trial offers in the Shopify App Store.
